Extra details

William was the second of George and Elizabeth Bray's six children. He was baptised on 21st June 1891 at St Luke's Church. He attended Raglan Road School. After leaving school he enlisted in the army, joining the King's Shropshire Light Infantry in 1908.

Before he was sent to France in May 1915 William married Edith May Jones, in Shropshire, and on 18th November their daughter Violet Rose was born. William never saw Violet as he lost his life at the battle of Loos.

William's brother Thomas and his uncle Kenneth McKenzie also died.
