Frederick was the adopted son of Thomas and Rachel Knight, they had three older children. On 5th December 1899 he enlisted in the Buffs, serving in the Boer War receiving two medals with clasps.
Frederick married Rose Joyce in 1908, they had three children. Their youngest was born in February 1915 and died on 5th July 1915. There is a record of a Frederick Bremmer being appointed assistant postman in Bromley in 1909 but in 1911 Frederick is a labourer.
At the outbreak of war Frederick re-joined his regiment and was killed at the Battle of Armentieres.
