Extra details

Arthur was the second of William and Annie Bennell's four children. He attended Bromley National Day and Sunday Schools, Bromley Baptist Church and was in the Scouts for four years. Leaving school he was apprenticed to the Grouting Engraving Company, College Road but in November 1916, at the age of 18½ he joined the Royal West Kents, went out to India and from there to Mesopotamia where he was killed by shrapnel while passing through a Turkish artillery barrage.
