Arthur was the eldest of Arthur and Mary Grover's two children. Born in Sydenham and brought up in Lewisham, by 1911 Arthur was living in the High Street Chislehurst where he was a printer and shopkeeper working for himself. Arthur Married Elizabeth Barrett shortly before enlisting at Christmas 1915.
It was whilst in the line near Morlancourt, during a relatively quiet time that Arthur was wounded and then died on 10th August 1918.
