Archer is recorded as H P on the Memorial and Henry P in the Bromley & District Times. However the only H Archer in Bromley at the time is Harry Archer, the 8th of Emanuel and Jane Archer's eleven children.

After attending Raglan Road School he was employed by Morton Crouch, of Masons Hill, in his Builders' Ironmongers business.

Harry enlisted in the West Kents in May 1915 but was transferred to the Queen's Westminster Rifles. He had been at the Front for quite some time when he was wounded in the arm. He was sent home for treatment at the Scottish Military Hospital, Glasgow and was making a good recovery when the wound was accidentally scratched and blood poisoning ensued, resulting in his death. The funeral took place at St Luke's Cemetery on Saturday 24th November.
