Charles Henry Brigden is recorded on the Memorial as Edward Charles Brigden. His death, in Bromley, is recorded as Charles E Brigden and his grave stone shows him as Edward Charles Brigden.
Charles was the thirteenth of George and Mercy Brigden's fourteen children, he had an older brother Edward. Charles was baptised on 16th May 1880 in St Mary Cray. In 1902 he married Rhoda Maud Brown, as Charles Henry.
CWGC record him as Edward Charles Brigden, husband of Rhoda Maud. She appears as a widow in 1939 Register, his brother Edward is also recorded on it so there is no doubt that this soldier is Charles Henry Brigden. Apart from an Absent Voters list that confirms his address as 12 Wharton Road there are no other records of his military service.
Rhoda's brother Stanley George Brown also died.
