Extra details

Baptised John Charles Balfour Arundel on 4th August 1892 at St George's Battersea, Charles was the eldest of John and Keir Edington Moncrieff Arundel's nine children. Both born in Edinburgh, John and Keir were married on 18th May 1891 at Bromley St Leonards, Tower Hamlets. Keir was still in Edinburgh on the 1891 census so they had probably met before John moved south.

By 1901 the family had moved to 132 Southlands Road where Charles attended Raglan Road School. By 1911 Charles was at Colchester Barracks with the West Yorkshire Regiment and the rest of the family were at 46 Addison Road.

He was killed at the Second Battle of Arras, Vimy Ridge.
