Extra details

Arthur's birth certificate shows his mother as Lily Crozier (milliner) with no named father. In 1881 Lily/Lilian is living as the wife of Philip Augustus Crozier (solicitor) in Birmingham, she is an actress. In the same year Lilian Ramsden is cited in Philip's divorce from his wife Matilda (they had nine children). There is no trace of Lilian after Arthur's birth and Philip goes to America where he fathers another son. Philip died in 1892.

Arthur was left with Eliza Giles who appears to be an unofficial foster mother. He attended the Parish School. Arthur married Rose Mickelburgh at St Andrew's church, Holborn on 21st October 1906, they had five children.

Nothing is known about Arthur's military service.
