Extra details

William was the eldest of William and Fanny Brouard's two children. He was baptised on 19th August 1888 at St George's Tufnell Park. He attended the National School in Bromley. William's mother died in 1901 then, in 1908, his father married Julia Frances Balley, her sister, who appears to have always lived with them. By 1911 William Robert is working as a baker.

William enlisted in May 1915 and was sent to the Front quite quickly. He was home on leave in May 1916 and came through the fierce fighting of that Summer unscathed. William died on the first day of the Battle of Messines.
