Noel was the third of Arthur and Lucy Boosey's five children. He was baptised at St Luke's Church on 20th February 1892. Prior to going to Malvern College in April 1905 he was educated at Hildersham House in Broadstairs. At Malvern he played for the 3rd XI cricket team, was head of House and a school prefect. He was an officer in the Cadet Corps. He left Malvern in July 1910 and joined the family music publishing company.

Noel became a 2nd Lieutenant in the 22nd battalion of the London Regiment on 15th March 1913. He was sent to the front on 15th March 1915 and died of wounds, sustained two weeks earlier, on 22nd July 1915.

His cousins Frederick & Rupert Boosey are on the Keston war memorial.
