Ernest was the only child of James and Mary Baylis. He was baptised privately at Holy Trinity Church on 31st January 1887 as Arthur Ernest, and received into the church on 17th April 1887. He married Lilian A Bowen in 1914, they had no children. Nothing further is known about Ernest's life.
