George was the illegitimate son of Fanny Gertrude Hollands. In 1897 Fanny married James Parsons, they had eight children.
George enlisted in January 1915 joining in the Army Service Corps 37th Reserve Park, which was formed in February that year. This was a horse transport unit. He died delivering supplies to the troops.
George's uncle Onslow Clifton Hollands also died.
