Reginald was the only child of Richard and Fanny Curtis. Born in Wiltshire, by 1901 the family had moved to Bromley. In 1911 he is recorded as an ex-soldier, having served three years with the Coldstream Guards. Shortly after the census he joined the Metropolitan Police, being stationed at Alderney Street, Hampstead Road, Camden. At the end of 1911 Reginald married, in Bromley, Louisa Emma Thompson, they had one daughter.
At the outbreak of war Reginald was called back to his regiment and on 13th August 1914 embarked for France. On 25th January 1915 Reginald was wounded and taken prisoner, he died six days later at No9 German Field Hospital.
