Extra details

William was the 5th of William and Jane Fryís eight children. He was baptised at St Mary Magdalene church Peckham on 27th April 1890.

William married Emily Kate Wells in 1908 in Camberwell, they had five children. Emily had another daughter in 1919, born in Bromley 2Ĺ years after Williamís death. Street directories have a Mrs Fry living at 21 Hilldrop Road, this is confirmed as being Emily as her daughter Kathleen is at the same address in 1939. Kathleen had married, in 1932, Alfred Tolhurst whose uncle George Frank Tolhurst had also died during the war.

William died at the Somme on 15th September 1916.
